May Long Weekend

We thought it was about time for us to take the plunge with Gavin and potty train him, HOWEVER everything we plan for Gavin seems to go the opposite way.  This time it wasn't his fault (or his strong willed personality who dictated the outcome).  The boys were both on antibiotics for bronchitis and as a result Gavin got severe diarrhea, yuck!  Yeah not a great thing at the best of times but trying to potty train someone who has NO CONTROL of their bodily functions is impossible.  Here is how the very long weekend played out!

The line up of prizes and treats!

The scene is set for a successful 3 day potty training program

It all started off perfectly!!

And then the diarrhea hit hard!!!

The poor little guy was exhausted and not to mention a little sore down below.  He kept saying my bummy hurtz, melt my heart!!!

If you know Gavin you know he is a little fighter and bounces back quicker than anyone I know.  He didn't want to miss out on the lemonade stand that Bennett and the neighbours, Ben and Abby were having.

We continued to set the scene for success where ever we were, not that it made it happen.

I just couldn't get enough of seeing Gavin's little bum in his undies.

So I knew this day would come (deep breath) Bennett is growing up, not that I was unaware how how big he was getting but he went on his first official sleepover.  I know, that means he is really growing up, right!!!  To my disbelief he wasn't even scared or worried about being homesick he was just so darn excited to go to Ben's for a sleepover that I had to ask him to stop so I could take some pictures to document this moment.
Ben's house is only across the street so we know if we got a late night phone call that we could "save" him quickly.  The next morning came and no phone call.

The four kid-lets eating lunch and dressing up!

All in all a not such a successful long weekend but we enjoyed the beautiful weather.  Stay tuned for the "official" potty training post when gavin's bummy is back to normal.
